About Us

JJ Play began in 2016 as a Brooklyn based child psychotherapy practice, grounded in a deep respect for children and their rich emotional lives. Over time, our work has expanded beyond the treatment room to support children and families in new ways—through virtual parent coaching, clinical supervision, and training for organizations that serve young children.

We have extensive training in play therapy and 15+ years in educational and therapeutic settings, both as clinicians and administrators. This background has given us a unique lens into the way children communicate their needs and make sense of their experiences. It has also given us perspective on the many obstacles to meeting those needs within existing support structures.  Collaboration with a variety of developmental specialists, educators, and medical professionals has helped shape our holistic understanding of child development. The ultimate goal of our work is to help children feel understood, and for the grown-ups in their lives to support them with confidence and connection.
